Pacdef

My first open source contributions and serious code, and how I want to take it much further …

pacdef was my first major contribution to serious open-source. I was finally working on a tool people actually use in their day to day lives. It was actually insanely enjoyable.

My compiler design courses are nearby. I want to build new stuff. Newer stuff. Much newer. I want to be able to contribute to rust frameworks and build one that people actually use. I want to help.

The plan is simple. Fork pulldown-cmark, change it to support custom syntax, and write your own string handling library. Do this all while maintaining a spec.

This is not easy. It is insanely hard. And to top it all off I want to do it with support for programming languages like scheme or something. But hard things never scared me anyways.

So as of now I'm working on adding new features to my other project while writing this. This simultaneous blogging and writing code is kinda fun not gonna lie.
